London lantern clock of about 1670 signed by Thomas ParkerLondon lantern clock of about 1670 signed by Thomas Parker

A handsome London lantern clock of about 1670 signed by ‘Thomas Parker in St. Anns lane neere Alders gate fecit’.  He was trained under William Almond from 1658 till 1669, after which he is believed to have worked mostly for Almond till last heard of in 1684.  Originally the clock had balancewheel control but the movement was replaced perhaps a century ago by a chain-drive, spring-driven German movement of high quality chiming the quarters on two bells.  Cleaned and serviced. SOLD.
